Chaukori

Chaukori is a dream, surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks and dense forests. At a height of 2,010 meters, above the sea level, Chakori is not just another hill station, but it is for the very few, who want to be there, in the majestic proximity of the Himalayas for an unbound view of the Nanda Devi & Panchchuli peaks.

Chaukori is one of the few places in Kumaun, where you will find tea gardens. As the name suggests, it is like a bowl, cupped within the Himalayan heartland. It ia an idyllic holiday resort amidst unspolit nature, a land bestowed with natural abundance, fruit orchards, and the jungles of Pines, Oaks and Rhododendrons.

How to reach

The nearest town is Bageshwar (45 kms.). Almora is at a distance of 110 kms. It is also 125 kms. from Pithorgarah.

The nearest airport is Pithorgarah (125 kms.) . No regular flights are avilable at present.

The nearest Railhead is Kathgodam (215 kms.).

What to see
Chaukori is the vantage point to the Himalayas. Due to it's small population, high altitude and magnificent location, it's one of the most ideal spot for the travellers who seek a ideal hideway, far from the maddening city life.
