Nanakmatta is one of the great pilgrimage centre of Sikh religion . There is a Gurudwara and a big dam known as Nanak Sagar constructed on river Saryu . It is believed that Guru Nanak Dev , the first Guru had visited this place on his way to Kailash Parvat in 1515 AD. Thousands of sikh piligrims came here throughout the year . A tourist rest house and Gurudwara are avilable here for night stay .

Nanakmatta is situated at a distance of 56 Kms. from Rudrapur ( District headqarter of Udham Singh Nagar District ) on Tanakpur-Panipath Highway and around 121 Kms. from Nainital on Nainital-Tanakpur route . A beautiful big dam here is also attract lot of tourists here . One can enjoy boating and fishing in this picnic spot . The serene lake waters reflecting the clear sky above is a breathtaking sight.
